...No more 2 for 1 specials, no more buy anything have a heart attack and high blood pressure for free, no more super size me please trips...you name Pudgy Penny has probably done it, and to think I used to believe that I was hiding my thickness well. Not to say that I don't have a Pudgy Penny craving every now and then, but now I earnestly fight it because I know a staff of kick butt women at Spa Lady and I don't want to be caught slpping on my new job. If you have not had the Spa Lady experience, you are truly missing out on the best opportunity of your life. It's not about vanity (although I look forward to smaller clothing sizes) it's about doing what makes your body healthy. After sweating away 20 pounds during the Biggest Loser Challenge, I can't turn back, and I never quit, I am a competitive person, I finally have found a place to put that attitude to work. So, I encourage you to take the short ride to Route 46, have a seat on the sofa, have a conversation that will change your perspective about your life, and sign up! I hope to see you sweating it out at Spa Lady. I love those women!!!!!!! They truly are rock stars!!!

Tonight I attended the Biggest Loser results at Spa Lady. Congratulations to every single person who participated, when I heard that over 400 pounds were lost it blew my mind! I joined WPSL in the beginning of March and since then I have spent hours there, working out, or talking everyone’s ear off, and I lost 32 pounds!! When I joined I had gotten to the point where I was disgusted with myself. I am a young girl, and I love to go out and have fun, but life wasn’t fun for me anymore, because my weight had taken over! The moment I walked through those doors my life changed! I started to understand myself and my body more. I learned that it isn’t about the outcome, but about the journey it takes to get there. Yes, doing 532,849,237 lunges and squats in Learn your body is painful, but the feeling I get when I go home at night is more gratifying than anything in the world. I was never very disciplined, but thanks to WPSL, my life has drastically changed. I know I definitely work hard, but as I told Katie tonight at the results, I owe so much of my weight loss so far to the women who work at this amazing place. They are the most motivating, generous, kind people I have ever met and even if I don’t say it, in my mind and with every pound I lose, I thank them from the bottom of my heart! Katie, the motivating and energetic atmosphere you have created has been my saving grace, and has honestly saved my life! Congratulations again to all the big losers,!!!!!!!

"Peppermint Puffs!" This experience is awesome! Each week I prepare for my weigh in, have my food diary reviewed, and learn something new about myself and the fitness process. Two weeks ago I stepped on the scale prepared to see more weight loss. You can imagine my surprise when Jada kept pushing the lever passed my weight from the previous weigh in. I could not believe that I had gained 1 1/2 pounds in a week. I stood in awe. Of course, I replied like many others may have in the past, "What happened? How did I go up a pound and a half?!" So, Jada went through my food diary with her blue pen, and began making big circles. Jada exclaims, "Penny! What are peppermint puffs?" I sheepishly reply, "They're peppermint candies that melt in your mouth." She continues to circle each time I indulged in the peppermint puff parade. When she was finished, she was about to add up all of the calories obtained from eating the peppermint puffs. I just couldn't let her do it, I already knew by looking at my diary what the outcome would be. It had more rings than Saturn for goodness sake! Jada then instructed me to take the diary home and add up all of the calories, and call her with the total. I humbly took my black notebook, which now felt more like the Scarlett Letter, placed it in the locker, and began my workout; which Jada actively observed from the front desk (altering my speed on the treadmill, making sure I had the correct posture...). I arrive at home, and begin to add up the calories circled in my food diary. "Oh my goodness!!! That's where that extra pound and a half came from!" I picked up the phone, called Jada, and made my report. "Jada, I ate 1,040 calories worth of peppermint puffs!" Of course, Jada and I began to crack up with laughter. I took the entire container and threw it in the trash! Lesson: Everything counts, even the little peppermint puffs that melt in your mouth!
